Exciting Job Opportunity in an International Organization!!!

A reputable International organization with head office in Abuja is looking for an ideal Candidate to fill its Accountant position in the Abuja office:

Job summary: apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.

Primary responsibilities:
•   Manage Finance
•   Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports;
•    Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions;
•   Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures;
•   Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness;
•   Prepare and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices and other accounting documents;
•   Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels, and ensure expenditure control;
•   Resolve accounting discrepancies;
•   Recommend, develop and maintain financial databases, computer software systems and manual filling systems;
•   Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the company's automated financial systems;
•   Reconciliation of bank accounts;
•   Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits;
•   Other duties as assigned

Additional responsibilities:
•   Develop the annual operating budget and consult with departmental management on the fiscal aspects of program planning, salary recommendations and other administrative actions;
•   Provide accounting policy orientation for new staff

Qualification:
•   B.Sc./HND Accounting or equivalent with ACA (ICAN), M.Sc./MBA Economics/Business Management qualifications will be added advantage.
•   A minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience in a complex and multi-cultural environment is desired.

Candidate must: 
•   Be able to read and interpret MoUs/Contract Agreements correctly;
•   Have good analytical ability;
•   Be articulate in report preparation/presentation;
•   Possess strong operating knowledge of MS packages and Financial Applications;
•   Excellent inter-personal relationship and strong communication skills;
•   Must be computer literate.
