CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR – CIVIL (REF-PE/3)

International Energy Services Limited is an indigenous Energy Services Company set up with the aim of providing solution to bridge the professional career gaps for employees and human resource needs of the oil and gas industries in Nigeria.

Client:
Our client (NLNG), a world class oil and gas company located in Bonny Island, needs the services of a suitable experienced candidate.

The Job:
• Any successful candidate shall be employed by IES limited and seconded to our client as a contract staff.

Job Objectives
• Ensure that civil construction activities are carried out in an organized, safe and efficient manner and meeting HSE, financial, quality and schedule targets.

Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate would amongst others ensure the following:
• Ensure that assigned construction activities are carried out according to schedule, within construction budget and meeting HSE and quality requirements.
• Check constructability and completeness of construction packages and provide timely feedback for improvements in a structured way.
• Check, approve and implement contractor QA/QC and ITP documentation and ensure that they meet relevant standards.
• Liaise with contractors in assessing risks, implement mitigating measures and to resolve such issues that may prevent timely completion of assigned works.
• Obtain proper authorizations before commencement of construction activities, and manage changes in the works, using approved change control system when they occur during the construction phase of the assigned works.
• Check and ensure that the materials specifications are accurate, complete and fit for the intended use. Also, ensure that the materials utilized are of adequate standard.
• Arrange to carry out relevant tests in order to ensure high quality construction activities, and keep proper documentation of such.
• Ensure proper as-built drawings are maintained and submitted by the contractor(s) or in-house construction crew.
• Liaise with contractors to determine best work approach and ensure that quality work is delivered.
• Act as the focal point for providing reports/documents showing that specifications have been adhered to, while executing the project.
• Update the company on the progress of construction activities and ensure that all materials utilized are of adequate standard.
• Upon completion of the assigned projects or parts of projects, arrange for the handover and close out of construction works in an organized manner and ensure that all punch lists and exemption lists are completed.
• Send feedback on lessons learned during construction to the Project Engineer for incorporation in future work packages.


Qualifications and experience required:
• B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (Minimum of 2nd class lower)
• Minimum of 5 years post-graduation working experience, 3 years of which should have been in project engineering activities in the oil and gas industry.
